The Summer school will be organised by the Faculty of Arts and the Centre for International Humanitarian and Operational Law (CIHOL) at the Faculty of Law of Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, with partners from Bologna University (Italy) and University Clermont Auvergne (France).

The focus of the programme shall be archeology, arts and its protection in the framework of international law. Thus, the summer school will provide interdisciplinary insight into the history of archeology in the respective countries, excavation sites, art collections and most importantly, the legal aspects of protection of historical and artistic artefacts in the international context. The participants will meet at a series of special tailor-made lectures, meet their colleagues from abroad, and collaborate on common tasks. The programme will include practical training, with case studies in international protection of historical and artistic objects, and the participants will have the opportunity to visit and learn at excavation sites (for example, Býčí skála) and in artistic collections (for example, Archbishop´s Château in Kroměříž, National Gallery Prague) in the Czech Republic.
