From 25th to 28th August, 2014 the Student Association of Energy (SAE) is organizing the first edition of the SAE Summer Academy on Energy (SAEĀ² ) in Budapest, Hungary. The main goal is to provide an opportunity to undergraduate and MSc students from all over Europe to get acquainted with the recent visions and developments of sustainable technologies in the field of future fuels (e-mobility, biofuels, fuel cells and other alternative fuels), while making contacts and friendships for their future.

Target group

Undergraduate and MSc students (not necessarily engineer students) who are interested in the topic of future fuels

Course aim

The central topic of the Summer Academy is the state and prospects of different potencial future fuels. In this framework, the participants, through the lectures, panel discussions, the 3-day-long task, and a factory visit, will get to know the following topics from experts:

- Energy outlook - the role of the fuels in the global energy consumption
- Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of different future fuels
- Biofuels - development trends, future prospects
- E-mobility - the future of electric cars
- The impact of the e-mobility spread on the electricity grid
- Other possible future fuels & their technologies, such as CNG, hydrogen, fuel cells.

Beyond the professional development, this event wants to provide an opportunity for students, working on different fields of engineering, to make international contacts with other talented students.
