Organizational Behavior Management

when 16 July 2016 - 30 July 2016
duration 2 weeks
credits 3 ECTS
fee EUR 1150

To change behaviour within an organization, we first need to understand it. Only then can we effectively improve leadership, motivation, and culture to create a more productive workplace. VU University Amsterdam is the first European institution to offer a degree in organizational behavior management and this is the first summer course of its kind offered in Europe. Students will learn the principles and techniques of applied behaviour analysis (ABA), the ABC model (antecedent-behaviour-consequence), and the four behavioural consequences. They will also explore protocols for shaping new behaviours and learn to use the OBM Optimizer, a practical tool for enhancing organizational performance, including such factors as quantity, quality, safety, and attendance. The course syllabus includes guest lectures and a visit to the employer of a recent executive graduate in OBM at VU Amsterdam.
