How to define, diagnose and treat complex trauma and complex PTSD remains a challenge to clinicians and researchers alike. In this summer school, participants will learn about the latest developments concerning diagnostics and treatment of complex trauma and complex PTSD. There are tracks for both clinicians and researchers. The setting will be both academic and culturally inspiring, with lectures, workshops and site visits to relevant projects and historic sites. In addition, researchers can choose to participate in a Paper-in-a-day.

Target group

Clinicians and researchers who have finished a relevant master' degree and who are working or intend to work with complexly traumatised populations (such as refugees, military veterans, police officers, survivors of early childhood trauma)

Course aim

At the end of the course, participants:
- are informed about the content and background of a diagnosis of complex PTSD,
- are able to reliably diagnose complex PTSD and related disorders,
- have an increased understanding of treatment approaches for complex PTSD,
- have gained knowledge about at least one evidence-based treatment for complex PTSD,
- have either finished a Paper-in-a-day or visited a relevant project or historic site.
