Choose from a number of Business and Law subjects lasting between one and three weeks, or take multiple courses and combine them with other disciplines to make up your own bespoke summer school experience. At Nottingham Trent University our summer courses are delivered by experts who bring academic and industry experience to their subject. Choose from the following business and law subjects:

> Design Thinking Summer School (three weeks) - you'll stand out from the crowd and complement your business skills by practising creative thinking and problem solving techniques. Aimed at business and marketing students who wish to enhance their creativity by combining techniques from the design and marketing professions so that they generate new and innovative ideas and solutions

> European Law (one week) - this course will look at the legal nature of the EU, its treaties, the functioning of its institutions,
development of the fundamental pillars (free movements and competition law) and judicial remedies. The course will then consider Charter of Fundamental Rights and interpretation of the Human Rights in the wider perspective of the European Convention of Human Rights.

> Greenhouse Gas Reduction in Business Consultancy Project (two weeks) - delivered via a series of lectures and seminars/workshops you'll be introduced to the concept of consultancy work for business, project management, effective presentation of findings, and Greenhouse Gas Management tools. You'll be allocated a company, which will form the basis of your analysis, visit this company on site and develop a Greenhouse Gas Management Programme for them. By the end you'll be able to demonstrate knowledge of Greenhouse Gas management tools, effective team working, presentation skills, and information analysis.

> Introduction to English Law (one week) - familiarise yourself with the origins, institutions and ethos of English law and to gain an understanding of English legal (and consequently common law) method. The module will introduce you to the idea of law and legal method before going on to introduce the key sources of law and exploring distinct speciality areas such as the law of obligations, criminal law and public law.

> Sustainability in Practice Certificate (one week) - through a blended learning approach of workshops, lectures, role play, Zeemaps and games you will be introduced to the many factors which affect sustainability in the food chain and within your own discipline. You will be guided to find pragmatic and existing solutions to one of these issues of your choice, and present your findings via an inventive, engaging or perceptive means of communication.

The courses will broaden your skills and knowledge and introduce you to new ways of thinking, and you'll also learn more about Nottingham and NTU as contemporary places to live and study.

NTU is right in the heart of England, with London, the coast and all the major attractions within easy reach. We provide you with a real experience of living and learning in the UK, in a city famous for the tales of Robin Hood.

July is a vibrant and fun time to be in Nottingham, with events and activities to suit everyone. The Splendour Music Festival at Wollaton Hall is a great day for all music lovers, or you may like to commemorate Shakespeare by watching an open air theatre event at Nottingham Castle. You might want to enjoy some cricket at the world famous Trent Bridge, or visit one of Nottingham's other top sports venues such as The National Ice Centre or National Watersports Centre. With galleries, theatres, music venues and great cafes all within easy walking distance of the University you're sure to take home happy memories of your time in Nottingham, as well as a wealth of new skills and experiences from your studies.

We'll hold a series of optional activities you can choose to take part in that are designed to help you explore Nottingham, or you can get around this compact, attractive, and safe city yourself on foot or by using its excellent public transport network.

Target group

Our courses are aimed at University students who have taken at least one year of undergraduate study in a related subject.

Credits info

2.5 ECTS
On successful completion you'll receive a certificate to say you've attended and achieved a level of attainment expected by your tutor. You'll also be sent a transcript confirming that you've passed your course, and the number of credits achieved. Each week offers 5 NTU credits which is equivalent to 2.5 ECTS.

EUR 550: Our fees vary depending on the course taken and the number of weeks of study you choose. Course prices start from £550 per week.
