HEC Paris Summer School: The Investment Banking and International Corporate Finance
The Investment Banking and International Corporate Finance Summer School is taught by lead professors, Ferdinand Petra and Patrick Legland, both intimately familiar with Investment Banking given their respective experiences in the field (Barclays Capital, J.P. Morgan, Société Générale, and UBS).

The intensive 2 week Summer School Program is geared toward undergraduate students as well as recent graduates, preferably with an initial finance background, who are interested in the following questions:

How to analyze the financial situation of a company & determine its value through Investment Banking methods
How companies raise funds
How Chief Financial Officers use Financial Theories (market equilibrium, agency theory, signal theory, behavioral finance) to make financial decisions for their firm, and create value for shareholders.
The Program in Investment Banking and International Corporate Finance covers the following themes:

Choice of a financial structure
How companies create value
Valuation methods (transaction multiples, DCF, brands)
Equity raising
Debt financing
Dividend Policy
M&A, deal structuring
The methods are case-study based and necessitate significant groupwork with international colleagues. The program is complemented by an evening networking event with Investment Bankers.

For students who do not have Corporate Finance background, a specific online course in accounting will be provided prior to the Summer Program. This online preparation is complemented by a 2-hour classroom session at HEC Paris with Ferdinand Petra Day 1 of the Program.
