CETMA organizes the first summer school on packaging for mediterranean agrofood products, in collaboration with GRANORO, DILEO and DUE PALME, companies of excellence in the agro-industry of Apulia and Basilicata. We intend to transfer methodologies and advanced techniques for generation and evaluation of alternative ideas in the packaging industry for pasta, wine and bakery products, with particular attention to issues of ethics and environmental sustainability. The course purpose is to give a comprehensive and well-defined path that starts from the understanding of the potential of new materials and industry constraints, to the concept generation for the partners markets. The course will be a creative workshop with visits to factories and tutoring offered by industrial experts.

Target group

Students and graduate in design and engineering faculties, preferably between 18 and 30 years old. The Summer School is also open to young professionals working in packaging and agroindustry sectors. It’s highly recommended a good knowledge of English language.

Course aim

Trainees will start the PMA Summer School studying the packaging sector in some leading markets for the mediterranean agro-industry, as pasta, wine and bakery products. Experts and teachers will stimulate analysis and understanding of trendvisions, how to generate ideas and needs for everyday life, knowledge of advanced materials for food protections, the way to investigate present and future applications.
This Summer School intend to increase the capacity of innovation of the students through the acquisition of methodologies and tools to develop concepts and scenery for the mediterranean agro-food industry packaging. The activities of development will be supported with professional coaching in CAD design and 3D printing. Final goal is the integration of knowledge on materials and manufacturing processes in a concept characterized by a highly technical and economic feasibility.

Fee info

EUR 600: The amount covers the costs of organization, including the welcome kit, daily meal ticket (valid only for lunch), teaching materials and transfers to and from the factories of partner companies.

Scholarships

There are no scholarships. The commission will assess the possible refund of the registration fee to the project that will stand for design quality and innovation.
