Slavonic Studies
The Summer School of Slavonic Studies at the Faculty of Arts of Palacký University in Olomouc organizes courses of Czech language for foreigners and also other courses in Slavonic languages, Russian language or Polish language in particular, for students from other countries.

Target group
The Summer School is designed for professors, senior lecturers, lectors and students of Czech language and literature or Slavonic studies, translators, journalists and people from the general public interested in Czech language, literature, history, and culture.
Course aim
To offer to all people interested in the Czech language an impressive and superior language course led by very skilled teachers. And to present to all students some interesting aspects of the Czech culture.
Credits info
The four-week SSSL course corresponds to one academic semester/term of Czech philology at the University. The number of credits will be awarded to the students by their home universities.

Language course comprehends:
(1) An intensive course in Czech language in total of 100 lessons: 20 teaching days, 5 teaching hours per day, including conversation lessons. Groups of maximum 15 students. Teaching languages: Czech, English.
(2) Complementary activities: lectures and seminars (Czech language, literature, history, culture, etc.).
(3) Books and other materials (according to students’ level).
(4) Complementary courses of Russian or Polish – each course twice 90 minutes weekly. These are opened only for a minimum of 5 students.
Cultural and additional program: 3 excursions (two one-day “Moravian” trips and one a two-day trip to Prague); Film club - evening video-shows of Czech films (twice a week); Theatre workshop - supervised by actors of Moravian Theatre; Dance workshop - lessons in traditional Czech and Moravian folklore dances; Folklore evening with a traditional Moravian folklore band
Scholarships
