You will learn basic freehand sketching to develop your skills with observation and perception, using Madrid’s historic and modern buildings as models. You will also develop simple volumetric architectural models as you begin to explore the nature of built environments.
During these weeks the workshops will be held at the School of Architecture, Engineering and Design of the Universidad Europea and the best reference places in Madrid as Matadero Madrid, Prado Museum or the Círculo de Bellas Artes, so you will acquire a practical vision.

Target group

The course is addressed to future students of architecture and design who are willing to test themselves through a personal exploration of the city and its buildings.

Course aim

The Summer Course – Architecture I – Introduction to Architecture will introduce you to the world of architecture through the use of sketching and handmade model-making as basic analog tools for architectural projects.
