The CEPS Summer School 2017 on Economic and Financial Governance of the EMU is a week-long training programme that aims to challenge participants to sharpen their knowledge and understanding of three main areas under EMU governance and the architectural structure and operations of that governance:

Banking Union and Capital Markets Union
Macroeconomic governance and economic policy
Brexit
The programme will analyse each of these areas from a policy perspective, combining lectures with seminars led by policy-makers and international experts, simulation exercises and discussion groups. The purpose is to help participants understand the challenges confronting the EU today, how decisions are taken at the EU level and the practical implications for the economy and the financial system.

Classes are conducted by highly experienced CEPS researchers, who will present the most recent developments on EU policies and draw in the state of the art in academic literature. Classes are complemented by workshops led by policymakers from different EU institutions.

Target group

The ideal candidates for the summer school are academics, officials from the EU institutions, national ministries, local or regional government agencies, central banks and professionals from the private sector who are interested in learning about real-life economic and financial policy issues within EMU.

Credits info

Participants who follow the programme diligently receive a certificate of attendance.

Fee info

EUR 0: €600 for students, academics and EU officials

€1,200 for CEPS members (corporate and institutional)

€2,000 for all others

*All fees are subject to VAT (applied at the current Belgian rate of 21%).

Fees include all teaching and lunch from Monday to Saturday. The fees do not include travel costs or accommodation.
