Everything you ever wanted to know about writing but were too afraid to ask
Writing is never easy. Yet artists face a deeper challenge because they tend to think in visual, spatial, concrete terms – not in terms of words. This workshop will show how artists can make writing easier by treating words – and texts – as visual, spatial, concrete elements. Text here will be treated like an artistic medium – yet with the goal of producing conventional texts: CVs, artist statements, project proposals, grant applications, academic theses. At the same time, I will show how text can be used to gain a deeper understanding of one’s own artistic practice and its future development.
