Multiple Approaches to the Perception of Speech

The focus of this summer school is the multidisciplinary approach needed to understand speech perception, in its process from sensory to cognitive, and in its function in well-being. It will combine contributions from researchers who study the sensory, neural, cognitive, and social aspects of the speech perception system. During this week, students will have the opportunity to listen and engage with researchers that combine multiple disciplines in their approaches to speech perception. Students will also actively participate in hands-on sessions. This school targets students who are interested in gaining a better understanding of the speech perception system in its multifaceted nature.

Target group

This summer school is intended for Research Master students, PhDs, MdPhD and practitioners with coursework or research experience with speech, hearing or language. Basic knowledge of cognitive psychology and neuroscience is recommended.

Course aim

After this course you will be able to:

- evaluate experiments in the field speech + hearing + language research
- design an experiment in the field speech + hearing + language research
- communicate the outcomes of an experiment to a multidisciplinary audience
