This broad introductory online course provides a good general overview of how Russia really works. The course deals with the most topical question of Russian politics, such as Russian attitude towards autocracy and federalism, the reasons and cosequences of the protests if 2011-2012, Russian position on international affairs.

This course has no prerequisites.

Course aim

The course aims to provide students with some sound general knowledge of contemporary Russian politics and get to know a variety of approaches to understanding the current political events in the country.
