This is a broad introductory course provides a good general overview of how Russia really works. The course deals with the most topical question of Russian politics, such as Russian attitude towards autocracy and federalism, the reasons and cosequences of the protests if 2011-2012, Russian position on international affairs.

Course aim

The course aims to provide students with some sound general knowledge of contemporary Russian politics and get to know a variety of approaches to understanding the current political events in the country.

EUR 270: If you take courses worth 3 ECTS or more in total
EUR 330: If you take courses worth less than 3 ECTS in total

The fee covers tuition, study materials and introductory cultural activities: boat trip and welcome dinner, trip to Peterhof, guided walking tour 'Alternative Saint Petersburg'. Accommodation costs, everyday transfers, meals and optional city sightseeing tours are not included into the fee.
