This course belongs to the STUDY ABROAD summer program of the University of Almeria. This Summer Program offers 4-week intensive academic and professional courses taught by Doctors and Full Professors of proven expertise and experience in the most leading-edge areas of knowledge of our University (Science and Engineering, Business and Social Sciences, Computing, Health Sciences, Education, Modern Languages, Tourism, etc).

This program is a unique opportunity for both undergraduate and postgraduate students from around the world to improve their academic, scientific and professional knowledge and expertise through a unique summer academic immersion experience. Since our beginning (2013), more than 250 students from different international universities have already participated (USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Belgium, UK, Finland, Norway, Netherlands, Austria, etc.).

The summer course packages include accommodation and meals, local transport voucher, cultural tours and trips, among other. The workload of the courses is 80 hours and they can be recognized by up to 11 ECTS credits at the home university. Please notice that our summer courses are addressed both to Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.

Course aim

1. Ofrecer una visión global de la estructura del sector energético en el ámbito internacional,
en la Unión Europea y España, en Estados Unidos, México y el resto de países de América.
2. Dar a conocer a los alumnos las instituciones públicas y las fuentes del Derecho energético y
medioambiental en la lucha contra el cambio climático.
3. Explicar las políticas energéticas y las acciones de mitigación y adaptación en la lucha contra
el cambio climático.
4. Permitir a los alumnos detectar cuáles son los problemas jurídicos que plantea el suministro
de energía en la lucha contra el cambio climático.
5. Dotar a los alumnos de los conocimientos necesarios para analizar y resolver problemas
jurídicos reales relacionados con el sector energético y el cambio climático.
6. Clarificar las interrelaciones entre el Derecho de la energía, la lucha contra el cambio
climático y:
(i) los derechos humanos,
(ii) el negocio energético,
(iii) la innovación tecnológica y
(iv) los consumidores de energía.
7. Conocer las distintas tecnologías energéticas y la problemática jurídica que plantean en
relación con el cambio climático.
8. Determinar cuáles son las instituciones y los procedimientos de resolución de conflictos en
materia energético y en la lucha contra el cambio climático.
9. Dar a conocer –in situ- el potencial energético de la provincia de Almería, su riqueza natural
y medioambiental, y los avances tecnológicos en energías limpias y en la lucha contra el
cambio climático.

EUR 1800: THE PROGRAM INCLUDES:

EUR 1700: Registrations made before March 30, 2018 have 5.5% discount (1,700 EUR).

Scholarships

· Early-bird registration: 5.5% discount (1,700 EUR) for registrations made before March 30, 2018.
