This course belongs to the STUDY ABROAD summer program of the University of Almeria. This Summer Program offers 4-week intensive academic and professional courses taught by Doctors and Full Professors of proven expertise and experience in the most leading-edge areas of knowledge of our University (Science and Engineering, Business and Social Sciences, Computing, Health Sciences, Education, Modern Languages, Tourism, etc).

This program is a unique opportunity for both undergraduate and postgraduate students from around the world to improve their academic, scientific and professional knowledge and expertise through a unique summer academic immersion experience. Since our beginning (2013), more than 250 students from different international universities have already participated (USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Belgium, UK, Finland, Norway, Netherlands, Austria, etc.).

The summer course packages include accommodation and meals, local transport voucher, cultural tours and trips, among other. The workload of the courses is 80 hours and they can be recognized by up to 11 ECTS credits at the home university. Please notice that our summer courses are addressed both to Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.

Course aim

El curso tiene como principal objetivo el proveer a sus estudiantes de un conjunto de
conocimientos y competencias en herramientas básicas de simulación que les permitan
realizar diseños y dimensionados básicos de instalaciones solares térmicas y fotovoltaicas para
aplicaciones en su entorno de trabajo habitual. Para la obtención de este objetivo general, se
abordarán los siguientes objetivos particulares:
1. Aportar a los asistentes al curso los fundamentos necesarios para la comprensión y
modelización en los sistemas solares térmicos y fotovoltaicos.
2. Comprender del movimiento aparente del sol con relación a su aprovechamiento como
fuente energética en dispositivos de captación solar.
3. Establecer y explotar los métodos de obtención de valores de radiación disponible a
efectos de diseño de instalaciones.
4. Conocer la estructura y fundamentos de funcionamiento de los captadores solares planos
para aplicaciones en baja temperatura.
5. Conocer la estructura y fundamentos de funcionamiento de los captadores solares
concentradores para aplicaciones en media y alta temperatura.
6. Identificar y conocer el funcionamiento de los elementos que constituyen una instalación
solar completa para instalaciones de baja temperatura (captadores, intercambiadores de
calor, sistema de almacenamiento, dispositivos de interconexionado y distribución
térmica,…)
7. Conocer la estructura y fundamentos de funcionamiento de los módulos solares
fotovoltaicos.
8. Identificar y conocer el funcionamiento de los elementos que constituyen una instalación
solar fotovoltaica (generadores, sistema de almacenamiento, dispositivos de
interconexionado y adaptación eléctrica,…)
9. Alcanzar capacidades de uso de herramientas informáticas para abordar diseño básico de
instalaciones solares con aplicaciones específicas (SAM, F-chart, TRNSYS, PVWatts,…).

The 80-hour course can be recognized by up to 11 ECTS credits at home university.

EUR 1800: THE PROGRAM INCLUDES:
