Building the Trullo Summer School
Participants will learn the construction technique of the trullo, the traditional round buildings with conic roof that are typical
of the area of Valle D’Itria, Southern Italy. Under the guidance of a mastro trullaro (trullo’s master builder), participants will
build the chianche cladding of a trullo’s conic roof. We will start with the preparation of the stone walls, to then move on to the
preparation of the individual chianche, to end up with the laying of the typical pinnacle.

Paolo Robazza, architect and founder of Beyond Architecture Group, a sustainable architecture and education organization.
Angelo Pentassuglia, master trullo builder since three generations.

Architects, planners, engineers, restorers, archaeologists, city historians, or who is interested in discovery traditional built environment
Course aim
Under the guidance and expertise of a local Trullaro, a master trullo builder, we will build a trullo using local stone construction techniques.
