Additive Manufacturing is revolutionizing the way we conceive and shape the built environment.

The new Summer School “Experimental Constructions with Large Scale 3D Printing” is conceived as an intensive and involving experience for students in architecture, building engineering and design, interested in computational design and digital fabrication.

We will focus on creating new ideas and design artifacts. What kind of tectonic configurations can be enabled by 3D printing? How do we realize high-performance architecture with it? How can we build bespoke architecture in a sustainable way?

Join us to answer these driving questions and explore the future scenarios of architectural and structural design.

Teaching and Instruction method
Engage with activities ranging from design to fabrication. You will be guided through tutorials on computational(digital) tools and group work to produce original design configurations. Collaborate in team to the realization of full-scale prototypes, developed and discussed with experts in the field.

Required skills
The course is suitable for advanced Bachelor/Masters level. You should be interested or curious about digital design and 3D printing, and have completed at least two academic years in the fields of Architecture, Engineering and Design.
