We've created this course to include younger fashionistas (10-13 year olds) with a focus on having fun, creating, designing and sewing in the studio. This workshop is perfect for those not yet old enough for our 10 day programme, who'd love to learn about fashion and design. To find out more, please visit our website.

Target group

10-13 year olds with an interest in fashion and design.

Course aim

You will learn how to:

Assume the role of the designer and develop your own ideas into a design
Complete a fashion brief
Create mood boards and learn why designers use them
Pattern cut, sew and construct your own garment
Take your first steps into the fashion industry
You’ll attend:

A talk from guest speakers within the industry
Fashion careers and cv talks
A fashion history taster
End of week exhibition in the gallery space at KCC
Whilst learning valuable skills such as:

Communication
Fashion design
Fabric knowledge
Embellishment
Accuracy
Machine and hand sewing
You will leave with:

Design development sheets
Your own mood boards
An outfit designed and made by yourself
The Summer Fashion School London tote bag
A certificate of completion
Please either bring a packed lunch, pre-order a lunchbox from Farm Girl or students can buy something each day at a nearby Tesco’s with permission. All quality fabrics, trims and art materials are provided.
