Ceramics Summer School
Research, design and create your own collection of ceramics!
Ceramics experience is not necessary to participate in this exciting and creative course!
You will start with exploratory drawing on location in Nottingham to create source material to work from.
There will be sessions on print and image making, and the opportunity to transfer your designs on to ceramics using a digital decal printer.
You will use a range of clay bodies to develop your hand-building skills and surface decoration techniques.
Workshops will introduce you to aspects of contemporary ceramic design practice through material processes, techniques and relevant skills relating to drawing and the application of colour.
On the final day of the course you will present your ceramics collection along with your concept development, research and 2D design work.
This course is led by the teaching and technical staff from the decorative arts department of Nottingham Trent University.
This course is ideal for students of art and design who are new to working with ceramics.
This is a great opportunity to investigate pattern, texture, imagery and decoration and create wonderful decorative pieces.
This course offers 10 NTU credits (5 ECTS).
GBP 1470: The fee covers tuition, most materials, visits, social programme and accommodation on campus.
