Academic English and Skills for International Students and Professionals
Success in academic studies is based on the development of a particular skill set. This course has been designed for prospective postgraduate students from any discipline who want to develop both their general English language competence and the academic skills which they will need in order to enroll at an English-medium university or college abroad. The curriculum has been organized around tasks that students need to master in order to perform and interact appropriately in an international English-medium higher education setting. These tasks include listening, reading and note-taking, participating in seminars, giving presentations and essay writing. There will be a strong focus on writing, as it forms the backbone of academic survival
