The world is constantly changing, and it can and will happen because of various reasons. It can happen because of a global pandemic, economic crisis, climate change, extinction of some species, etc. The fact of the matter is that every one of us will experience a change in our lives on a bigger or smaller scale. The question is: How can we better prepare for the challenges that occur with any kind of change? Can we prevent some of the struggles that occur before, during, or after the change?

At this summer school, we will explore, how to support the transition and build a bridge between the old and new realities in the healthcare field. This e-Health summer school focuses on the interaction between healthcare research, education, and business. Based on real-life use-cases that focus on the prevention of change-related challenges, participants will develop products or services for improved health systems, to make them more efficient, accessible, and value-providing.

Course leader

Local healthcare institutions will contribute business cases to give a starting point for the idea development. Representatives of medical centers and institutions, insurance, doctors, and nurses will be supervising the participants' work.

Target group

Each programme has a focus on business innovation and entrepreneurship, there is no need to have specific technical, healthcare or prevention background to join our Summer School.

Course aim

The summer school, organised by Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), will provide knowledge on the specificities of digital healthcare, change management, and a theoretical approach to prevention. In 2 weeks, the teams will have developed real-life prototypes for solutions that tackle some of the most burning problems in the field.

Participants will have a first-hand experience of how innovation works in the unique market of healthcare. Ideas generated during the summer school may also inspire the partner organizations to pursue further development towards products and services.
