DISRUPTING RETAIL - DIGITALIZATION, GROWTH, AND USER ENGAGEMENT
The retail sector is facing fundamental change and disruption with the emergence of e-commerce, consumer access to information and comparable offers in an increasingly digitalised and global marketplace. The dynamic and flexible omni-channel solutions - physical, online or blended - enables the seamless consumer experience in exploration, in choice of products, payment and delivery.
Smart digital retail solutions also enable collection and analysis of consumer trends and insights for logistics, retail operations and customer relations management.
The Helsinki summer school will address these challenges and opportunities from a service innovation point of view relying on design thinking (service design) perspectives. We will address different service innovations inspired by technologies like customer profiling, new retail modes and new user interaction technologies like virtual and augmented reality.
The Summer School will take place in Helsinki Co-Location Centre at the Open Innovation House in Espoo, Finland.
What happened at this location in the previous year:
28 students worked on cases from Voxana, Vividworks and S-Group, tackling issues like using voice analytics to develop customer insights, innovating new user experiences for customers visiting shops and building a household management and acess system.
Speakers from Ada Fresh, Relex, Holvi, S-group, Netprofile and PwC provided fresh perspectives on current trends and development of digital retail.
Participants were also able to visit offices of Posti, Finland’s postal service that has been going through rapid digitalisation.
We welcome all qualified participants interested in digital innovation and entrepreneurship: Business professionals, bachelor’s degree students, master’s degree students, and doctoral students from any university and industry.
Acceptance of transfer credit is always a decision of receiving institutions. Any student interested in transferring 4 ECTS credits to another college or university should check directly with the receiving institution.
