Economics of the Free Society
The course is just one of the 3 courses of International Summer School in American Law, Politics & Economy!
The course will cover the foundations of economics of the U.S. free market society, with an emphasis on the United States in both historical and contemporary perspective. In particular, we will explain the role of markets, exchange, the division of labor, money, capital, the coordinating function of the money price system, as well as the economic calculation of profits and losses. The course will introduce the participants to a comparative analysis of different economic systems. It will also provide an analysis of both socialist and interventionist economic systems from the perspective of the economically liberal society.
