Changing Security and Hybrid Threats
University of Jyväskylä (JYU) is organizing a summer course “Changing Security and Hybrid Threats” in cooperation with The European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats (Hybrid CoE). The course will enhance understanding of rapidly changing security environment in today’s Europe. During the course, the students will get familiar with cyber and information influencing today, military hybrid threats, and how state actors Russia and China as well as non-state actors fit into the picture. Through lectures and workshop case studies, the students will learn to identify vulnerabilities, understand strategic motivation using hybrid threats and how to build resilience. The course will be interactive, encourage the students in critical thinking concerning hybrid threats. In addition to the main lectures, there will be several guest lecturers’ themes such as geopolitics, security in history.

Target group
Jyväskylä Summer School offers courses to advanced Master's students, graduate students, and post-docs from the field of Mathematics and Science and Information Technology.
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of Hybrid Threats and Main Concepts
Course aim
Learning outcomes: Basic common understanding about Changing Security and Hybrid Threats.
Fee info
EUR 0: Participation in the Summer School courses is free of charge, but students are responsible for covering their own meals, accommodation and travel costs as well as possible visa costs.
Scholarships
Jyväskylä Summer School is not able to grant Summer School students financial support.
