The school deals with mind-body interactions in health and disease. In particular, the topics will be: the physiological aspects of body image, of its construction and alteration with special reference to interoception and imagery, the normal and altered relation of cardiovascular/gastroentric functions/trigeminal information with cognition and sleep, the role of individual cognitive and psychophysiological traits in pain and in its cognitive control, relaxation techniques.

Target group

Bachelor and Master degree students, PhD students of health sciences, medical doctors, psychologists, professionals in rehabilitative sciences.

Course aim

Psychophysiological and clinical information will be provided. A round table between phylosophers and biologists will conclude the school in order to bridge the gap between humanities and biology.
