Research Methods in Intercultural Communication
This course will be offered in an online setting.
In this course, students will be introduced to the basics of conducting research in the field of Intercultural Communication. Common pitfalls of intercultural and multilingual research and possible practical solutions will also be considered. This course combines theory and relevant considerations about research methods with a more practical approach in which different methods of data collection and analysis will be explored and compared.
In this course, students will be introduced to the basics of conducting research in the field of Intercultural Communication. Both quantitative methods and qualitative methods will be covered, as well as the possibility of using mixed methods is discussed. Common pitfalls of intercultural and multilingual research and possible practical solutions will be considered. This course combines theory and relevant considerations about research methods with a more practical approach in which different methods of data collection and analysis (e.g. observation, interveiw, survey and corpus analysis) will be explored and compared.
This course is offered in cooperation with the Master in Intercultural Communication.

EUR 400: Course + course materials.
The fee for students enrolled in our Master's programme Intercultural Communication is €300. If you are also following our summer school course: Research Methods in Intercultural Communication you will pay a total fee of €500 for both courses. If you follow both this course and Research Methods in Intercultural Communication, but are NOT enrolled in our Master's programme,there is a discount and you will pay a total fee of €700.
