This Summer School will introduce you to some of the most exciting topics in current astrophysics research, such as planet and star formation, galaxy evolution and cosmology!

Academic experts will give you the knowledge and confidence to perform experiments on state-of-the-art astronomical data, and will help you:

• Learn how to measure the mass of a black hole
• Detect outflowing gas towards accreting young stars
• Identify eventual sites of planet formation
• Gain an introduction to the principles of infrared/sub-millimeter photon detection
• Visit the labs where ground-breaking instrumentation is being built at Cardiff University

Target group

Undergraduate students, recent graduates or those with relevant work experience (18 years old and above).

Course aim

Our summer schools, based in the Capital City of Wales (UK), offer students a rich insight into British culture and an unforgettable study abroad experience. Our innovative courses address numerous global issues through hands on labs, lectures and industrial visits.

Students are usually able to obtain credits from their home institution. If this is your intention, please ask your University about their requirements before you enrol with us as the decision to award credits rests with them. GBP 1995: This fee is inclusive of:

• Tuition
• Breakfast and Lunch (Monday-Friday)

One Excellence Scholarship worth £1000 - please apply before 30th March 2020 to be considered.
