The CSS summer school serves as a research incubator aiming at fostering the use of data-driven methods in the social sciences and developing a contribution to the research field of social cohesion. During the summer school, you will work in one of eight teams of about five people on a specific research project. Each team consists of three junior researchers and two senior experts/supervisors, with strong methodological expertise in CSS and the field of social cohesion research. Each team will work through the whole research process with the aim to prepare a manuscript for scientific publication. Each project combines CSS methods with a research focus on social cohesion. This involves data-driven modeling of social cohesion and making use of simulation or prediction techniques. The projects may look, for example, into the consequences of social cohesion and its relation to conflicts and migration.
