In this course students are introduced to current developments in flight guidance, navigation and traffic management topics, and prepared for the challenges that lay ahead. Practically orientated lectures, exercises and a small course projects are used to acquire the required knowledge.
In times of increased globalization, air traffic has been characterized by a steady growth over the last decades and is expected to maintain this growth in the next years. In addition to supporting growth, the aviation community is trying to keep up with a number of technological advances and challenges including the ever-increasing use of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) for a wide variety of applications. While addressing these challenges, the safety of day-to-day operations must be maintained.

Target group

The target group includes current university students who have completed at least one year of their studies (Bachelor's, Master's or PhD level). Working professionals with equivalent work experience are also welcome to apply.

Course aim

Knowledge about various guidance, navigation and traffic management topics for manned and unmanned aviation
Knowledge about the “evolution” of flight guidance with a specific focus on UAS
Knowledge about basic approaches to face those challenges and to work on adequate solutions

3 EC
3 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) for the academic course.

Fee info

EUR 950: The fee covers public transportation for the duration of the course, excursions, course materials, and a cultural program.
