Managing Diversity in Organisations

when 13 June 2022 - 17 June 2022
language English
duration 1 week
credits 4 EC
fee EUR 500

The course presents an overview of what workforce diversity is and highlights its significance in improving our understanding of managing and being managed in the workplace.

Recent policies of radical deregulation, technological change, and heterogeneous workforce have intensified shifts in the occupational structure, the place and the timing of work, and career patterns. There is a need to effectively understand and manage workforce diversity not only to increase organisational business outcomes but also to create an inclusive workplace from a social equity perspective.

The module aims to introduce us to the various theories and approaches of diversity in organisations by discussing diversity and equality across the dimensions of gender, race/ethnicity, disability, age and sexual orientation. It considers the organisational processes, which produce and reproduce inequalities of outcome among diverse social groups.

The module also considers equality and diversity policy at organisational level. Different national contexts are investigated.

For your information, all our courses will be offered online and hopefully on campus through our new hybrid rooms but so far, all courses showed as “Online” will remain so. Should we decide to close a module, please rest assured that we will offer you a replacement or a refund.
