Applied Quantum Computing
In recent years a considerable progress has taken place in the field of Quantum Computing with regard to hardware and software. Although fault tolerant full scale Quantum Computing is not expected within five to ten years, companies need to build up their expertise. The possibility to decrypt by a Quantum Computer foreshadows the need to become aware of Quantum Security.
Course leader

Target group
Students interested in new and emerging technologies.
Course aim
The summer course Applied Quantum Computing offers several perspectives on Quantum Computing. Students get an introduction to understanding and developing applications for Quantum Computing.
By the end of this course, you will:
- know how to implement a basic quantum algorithm and understand its behaviour,
- know how to use a platform specific for quantum computing environment to implement a basic application,
- know about the international race to engineer a quantum computer,
- have learnt about the Dutch, European and global quantum computing ecosystem,
- have learnt to discern between reality and hype in relation to quantum computing.
