This is a presential course taught at the UAB campus, where the university guarantees compliance with the sanitary measures and the development of the courses in a safe environment.

Cultural background has an important impact on health access and outcomes. With this course, you can learn how to provide culturally competent care.
Most of us are living in multicultural environments so we need to know how to provide the best tailor-made care in these new contexts.
In this course, students will learn how to properly use terms such as 'race', 'ethnicity, 'culture' and 'community' among others.
The course will also get into health beliefs and social determinants of health. Finally, you will learn about gender, diversity and health.

You will use innovative learning methods such as narrative photography and critical visits around the campus.

Target group

The UAB Barcelona Summer School is open to standing local and international undergraduates and graduate students. International students who have been accomplished the first year of their undergraduate or at least the 50% of their first year credits at their home university could also be enroled at the programme. Working knowledge of the language instruction is highly recommended.

EUR 850: The course fee for international and national students (non-UAB students) is € 850 but those who register before April 30 will get 20% discount.
