The Italian Language and Culture programme aims at creating a unique experience of not only learning the Italian language, but also one of living the Italian language within an immersive cultural context, providing insight into the unique and unparalleled city of Venice. The Italian language component is a 40-hour module designed for participants with no previous knowledge of the Italian language or for those who wish to review basic A1 skills, that covers the basic language functions for communicating and understanding in the Italian language, for example introducing yourself, asking and receiving information, making positive and negative statements, presenting people and things, describing habits and daily activities, and more.
An additional 10 hours will be dedicated to providing an introduction to Italian art history within the context of the history of Venice. In the course of the lessons and through possible visits to the city’s main sites of interest, the introduction to Italian art history will focus on the historical and stylistic analysis of Venice’s most meaningful works of art and gain a better understanding of what has come to constitute the myth of this enchanted city. The cultural module will be held in English.

Target group

International students enrolled in Ca’ Foscari, members of partner universities, lovers of the Italian language and culture, as well as of Venice.

EUR 700: Fee for A1 level - 40 hrs language course + 10 hrs Culture class
EUR : Tuition fees cover administrative fees, cultural activities costs, and class materials. Fees do not cover accommodation.

Scholarships

Students enrolled in a partner university are eligible for a €100 discount. For eligibility criteria please read the Call for Applications once it has been published.
