This course is designed to help you understand how financial innovations throughout history have affected international trades and prosperity as well as improving standards of living. Having said that, however, innovations have often led to financial crisis as a result of inefficient financial systems and/or incompetent governments or regulators. Thus, this course covers various financial innovations and I introduce related cases to help you grasp the knowledge of financial crises.
