Architectural Association Summer School: London's Belly

The AA Summer School 2023 explores the urban landscape of food consumption, production, sale, transport and storage within the city of London and beyond. During its three-week programme in July 2023, units will set out from Bedford Square to investigate the ways in which the city consumes and metabolises food, energy and togetherness.

Target group

The course is aimed at creative minds: prospective architectural students, current architectural students who would like to experience the learning environment at the AA; those who are considering a change of school; those who just completed school; individuals considering a change of career; and newcomers to architecture are all welcome to explore and innovate at the AA Summer School.

We welcome applications to join us digitally from all ages (16+ y/o for online; 18+ y/o for on site) and experience levels.

Course aim

The Summer School is a full-time, three-week course comprising a unique and intensive programme of design studios, seminars, lectures and parties. Based on the AA unit system, it offers participants the opportunity to experience a diverse selection of different learning environments, teaching agendas and design techniques.

The programme offers, in conjunction with the onsite programme, an online unit for students who will be meeting via zoom. The online unit will operate in parallel with the events onsite events and those students will have digital access to all public programme.

GBP 1560: Fee On-Site programme (+18 y/o):

The AA Summer School on-site requires a fee of £1,560 per participant, which includes a £60 digital membership fee deposit. The deposit will reserve your place, but the full fee is required to participate.

EARLY BIRD FEE FOR ON-SITE: £1,260 AVAILABLE TODAY, NO CODE REQUIRED.

If you are already a member, the total fee will be reduced automatically by £60 by the online payment system.

The AA Summer School online requires a fee of £660 per participant, which includes a £60 digital membership fee deposit. The deposit will reserve your place, but the full fee is required to participate.
