THUS is an opportunity for students interested in Humanities and Social Sciences to participate in a 4-week-long summer research project in one of the following areas: Ancient History; Archaeology; East Central and Northern Europe in the Middle Ages; European Studies; Fine Arts; History of Historiography; History; Internal Security; International Relations; Medieval Archeology; Medieval History; Modern History; National Security Pedagogics; Philosophy and Theory of Politics; Political Systems; Political Thought ; Psychology
Topics to choose:
1. Clergy of the Uniate Church in the face of creating their image in the public perception (18th century)
2.The West and East in wills from XVII-XVIII century (on the example of the Ruthenian Lands of the Polish Crown)
3. Urban Space in / and / of Literature
4. The EU Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP) – selected aspects
5. Belligerent Russia
6. Russian Political Thinking in Time of War
7.(Inter)national memes and jokes
8. Social and language adaptation of minorities and immigrants in contemporary Poland
9. The 2nd half of the 20th century in social memory

The Faculties of History, Humanities, Philosophy and Social Sciences, and Political Science and Security Studies of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland

Target group

Undergraduate and graduate students from foreign universities who are academically active and strongly motivated to pursue a designated research projects

Course aim

The main component of the summer program is an active participation in the selected research project offered by the staff members of the NCU. Apart from the projects, once a week we will organize an invited lecture for the entire group. We will also offer short trips / sightseeing in the Toruń area on selected weekends

Scholarships

Qualified students will receive accommodation in the dormitories of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and funds for the subsistence allowance (PLN 70 a day - minus 10% tax)
