STTF2013 Summer School "Sustainable Technologies and Transdisciplinary Futures: From Collaborative Design to Digital Fabrication
STTF2013 Summer School is a one week intensive programme of conceptual and practical activities, which will immerse participants in both social and technical domains through Introductory Sessions, Masterclasses and Workshops.rnrnKeynote speakers are Jerry Ravetz (University of Oxford, UK), Liz Sanders (MakeTools, US), Tomas Diez (FabLab Barcelona, ES), Bernadette Bensaude-Vincent (Université Panthéon-Sorbonne, FR) and Alex Schaub (FabLab Amsterdam, NL).rnrnSTTF2013 offers an innovative environment of experimentation and learning, where all participants will have the opportunity to work together, untangling the intersection of technological development with all four pillars of sustainability.rnrnProjects will be developed through an action-research platform, by moving continuously between social and technical methods, from exercises with participatory tools or cultural scenario analysis, to the use of rapid prototyping or open hardware.

The Summer School is intended for Master and PhD students, researchers, and professionals from STS, Product and Service Design, Social Sciences and Humanities, Architecture and Engineering, Communication and Media, Environmental Studies, Economics and Management, Computer Sciences, and others.
Regardless of individual experience, everyone will take part in sociotechnical processes of design, construction and discussion of concrete objects, around two core themes: “Low Carbon Societies” and ”Smart Sensible Cities”.rnrnEnrollment in STTF2013 is limited to 20 participants Applications are open until April 1.
EUR 550: Regular fee (payment until June 1)rnrnFees include tuition, attendance in all STTF2013 sessions, course materials, use of library, and other ISCTE-IUL facilities, plus lunches and tea/coffee breaks. Participants must bring their own computers to the Summer School. Fees do not cover accommodation, travel expenses, or welcome and final dinners.
