German Energiewende - Impact on Buildings and Their Occupants
The International Summer University is a short term program taught in English focused on smart homes, energy efficient building and construction technologies, simulation and modelling, user interactions and e-mobility. Scientific knowledge will be enhanced by practical learning with hands-on experiences during field trips to companies and public institutions with an emphasis on building automation and control and smart living. Part of the academic module is a week-long excursion to Munich and the Alps to study the effects that German Energiewende has on a skiing resort.
The program combines academic seminars and German-as-a-foreign-language courses with cultural learning and lots of activities outside the classroom, e.g. daytrips to Ruedesheim and Heidelberg, climbing park, summer BBQ, sports workshop, etc. Students will spend an unforgettable summer at one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Germany and meet new friends from Germany and from all around the world.
