Economy of the European Union (taught in ITALIAN)

when 7 July 2014 - 8 July 2014
duration 1 week
fee EUR 200

The program starts with an analysis of the objectives and the benefits of economic integration, and in particular the European common market. It continues with the creation and the evolution of the European Economic and Monetary Union. We will therefore analyze the objectives and instruments of the European Central Bank's monetary policy, fiscal policy, the provisions of the Maastricht Treaty, and the Stability and Growth Pact. A further theme that will be dealt with is Economic Governance. The course continues with the "outer side" of the common market: the commercial policy both at a bilateral and at a multilateral level. Finally the course will present the strategy that the EU countries have started in order to support competitiveness through, above all, structural reforms.

The course is in Italian but some supporting materials will be in English.

Useful to the Diploma course in "European Affairs".
