Imperial Global Summer School- Engineering Stream

when 10 August 2015 - 21 August 2015
duration 2 weeks
fee GBP 3500

This two week Summer school is designed to give 15-17 year old students a taste of university level study.

In the first week, you'll join the Engineering learning stream. This will enable you to build up your knowledge in a specific subject area, through a combination of exciting practical activities, lectures and seminars. The study programme will incorporate a lot of time for you to do practical laboratory work. This means you will not just be learning in a classroom – you’ll be taught in our world-class facilities and spend plenty of time putting your knowledge into practice.

In the second week of the programme, you will work in small teams made up of students from all three streams to find cutting edge solutions relating to real world problems. You will be challenged to innovate, to think creatively and to apply your knowledge to cross-disciplinary projects. The projects you work on will be linked to problems faced by industry today, so your work could have real impact.

Throughout the programme you’ll be supported by our experienced academics, researchers, support staff and Summer School leaders. Your project group will also have access to a specific mentor to support and guide you as your ideas develop.
