“Robotics and Data Mining” course is a two-week intensive program with the UlSTU IT-professors and IT-specialists. Within the course students have a pre-assembled mobile robot collecting data from different sensors and transporting the data to the head computer. Students work in small teams (3-4 persons) and using the data collected develop algorithms for robot positioning and movement. Equipment is provided by the university: Arduino, Raspberry Pi, image sensors, LIDAR, encoders etc. Technologies, tools and languages used for programming the algorithms: PID, SLAM, OpenCV, Neural Networks, Classification & Clustering tools, Python, C++. During the course students are introduced to the following technologies:
- Robot positioning algorithms and odometry
- Photogrammetry
- Image processing
- Data Mining
- Mobile robot development
- Others After a short theoretical introduction students practice their knowledge at developing an algorithm. Each develops their own algorithm for the same mobile robot.

Entertaining part of the program combines sports activities, workshops, cultural museums, out-of-town guided tour, bicycle ride, picnic, open air movie theater and the annual air show of Russian Air Fleet Day.

Russian language and culture courses are provided within the course. Classes for beginners and advanced courses (provided upon request).

Course for undergraduate and graduate students interested in Robotics with programming background (C++, C, Python, others), basic knowledge of mathematics and electrical engineering

Credits info

Upon completion students receive a certificate of a taken course, indicating the number of academic hours and credit points recommended, as well as study materials.

EUR 850: Participation fee includes tuition, accommodation, lunch/day, cultural programme (including welcome and farewell parties), migration support, transfer within the city
