Robotics for Future Industrial Applications
The Summer School is all about advanced robotics. Headed by the Cybernetics Lab of RWTH Aachen, students explore future industrial applications and the role of robotics. Using C++, Java or Python skills, the challenges and opportunities of AI and neural networks are explored and tested in practical applications
The Cybernetics Lab conducts the academic content. Its interdisciplinary research focuses on information management, knowledge management, and management cybernetics.

✓ Minimum English language proficiency equivalent to:
TOEFL ibt : 72 points
IELTS: 5.5 band score
TOEIC: 785 points
Cambridge: FCE, Grade C

Desirable is the completion of the first year as well as basic knowledge in the following areas: Lecture „Artificial Intelligence“ (or objective evidence of equivalent knowledge), programming skills (C++ and/or Java), interest in logic-based programming. Linux skills are beneficial.
I. Academic Content

Using C++, Java or Python skills, the challenges and opportunities of AI and neural networks are explored and tested in practical applications.
II. German Language and Culture
Summer School students gain insight not only into the student life in the beautiful city of Aachen but also into the rich and vibrant German culture and history. Through the university’s “Summer Mentor” program, international students have the chance to immerse themselves in the vibrant student community at RWTH Aachen University. Participants will get to know Aachen from a true student’s perspective: They learn more about academic and cultural practices in Germany with the support of their German “Mentor” who is typically a student enrolled at RWTH Aachen University and can so offer first-hand experiences in and around the campus, painting an authentic picture of university life.
III. Social Events - Have fun while studying!
RWTH International Academy offers an extensive support program next to the academic courses in which participants meet like-minded people from around the world. All students from our different Summer School programs are invited to take part in sporting or dancing events, cooking nights and get-togethers. There is a wide offer of intercultural activities and excursions in and around Aachen –enjoy your stay!
Being in the heart of Europe, Summer School students will also have the opportunity to explore Aachen’s surrounding area – be it other German cities close-by such as the former German capital Bonn, Düsseldorf and Cologne or enjoy the European diversity in cities like Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam.
2, 3 or 4 ECTS credits according to the workload (about 60 hours / 2 weeks, about 90 hours / 3 weeks and about 120 hours / 4 weeks)

EUR 2990: The course fees include all lectures, laboratory courses and excursions, social events, accommodation, breakfast, lunch, all meals during social events and a public transport ticket for the respective time.
