language English
duration 1 week
fee EUR 385

The EIT Health Rare Cancer Summer School organized by 5 European Universities and the Leadership Programme of GE Digital will be accepting applications until 10 June 2016. Up to 40 qualified participants who have an idea related to medical information technologies in rare cancer will be invited to take part in this transformational experience and acquire the necessary toolset, knowledge and expertise to answer the biggest challenges of improving healthcare by creating their own businesses.

Participants of Medical Innovation Rare Cancer Summer School will work on real challenges related to connecting and empowering cancer patients. Students will work in small groups to develop a concept of a service addressing key needs in the cancer care process, at the same time learning how to build entrepreneurial teams, how to lead and be led, and how to focus on and understand market and customer needs.

Experts and coaches of the participating institutions will provide groups with support and mentoring in creating and developing their projects. Cross discipline lectures and workshops will be organized (in medical IT, business creation, teamwork, oncology care management) by world class experts.

Participating students will gain access to the fast track to leadership or entrepreneurial programmes of the partners. A funnel will be created to forward best projects to EIT Health Accelerator Programme, which may then be included in EIT Health Innovation Projects.
