Globalization as a Managerial and Economic Challenge in Europe
This module is designed for students interested in international economics and international management. It provides a unique combination of business and economics lectures focusing on opportunities, threats and challenges facing future managers and politicians throughout the world. The economic lectures will cover European macro, climate, trade and competition policy as well as the eastern enlargement of the Union. The business lectures will deal with international financial reporting and taxation, global supply chains and human resource
management in the wake of the demographic transition.
The lectures are combined with excursions to the international oriented companies and public insititutions which allow for discussions from a more practical perspective. Cultural activities such as wine tasting and a guided vistit tour of the Würzburg Residenz complement the learning experience in order to provide students with a deep insight into the regional life style.
Lectures are prepared and presented by professors of the Faculty of Business Management and Economics of the University of Würzburg and partner universities which are all experts in their fields.
The summer school is designed for advanced undergraduate and graduate students in business management and/or economics (please see summer school website).
Grading is based on written exams at the end of the Summer School. After successful completion students will be awarded 5 ECTS.
EUR 350: Registration fee 350 Euros covering company visits (incl. transfers), the official cutural and social program, free internet access at the university, coffee, tea, water during lectures, ticket for local transportation and health insurance during the period of the Summer School. Accomodation is not included. But we have organized rooms in the youth hostel for your which costs around 240€ for 9 nights.
