Join the incredible Fashion Marketing Summer School in Coventry. The intensive two-week course will introduce you to the core principles of marketing a fashion brand. By the end of the course you will have created a basic visual identity for a fashion brand, a rationale and a promo video.
The programme will include principles and practices of branding and fashion marketing, working with the necessary image editing and manipulation, copy writing, sound, storyboarding techniques and software for making a short video in the time available.
The course's emphasis is on marketing, on identifying and understanding a brand's product, core values and marketable potential. This is complemented by a rough-cut, four-second video which aims to help students to summarise and communicate complex and abstract ideas to a diverse and unpredictable audience.
Sessions will be a mix of lecture-style presentations, discussions and practical workshops. Content will include:
How a brand is conceived and created
How brands thrive and survive
Turning a product into a brand
Turning a brand into a must-have
Defining a brand for marketing
Getting the best out of an identity
Articulating and defending an approach
Images, sound and words
The programme will also include social and cultural visits for all to participate in and to explore your surroundings with new friends from all around the world.
You should have spent a minimum of one year on a university course (or equivalent) studying either a fashion or other related art and design course (such as advertising or graphic design).
As the programme is delivered in English, you will require a good level of English speaking, reading and writing skills. You must also have experience in working in a professional or academic role within a higher education setting and must be aged 18 or above
