Machine Learning
Today machine learning is revolutionising the very way we think about computers. From autonomous cars, to machine translation to playing Go, machine learning has enabled things just a few years ago thought impossible for a computer. This course is a basic introduction to machine learning. We start with discussing what machine learning is, how and why it works. We will then focus on several basic concepts behind machine learning such as linear regression, gradient descent, classification, etc. The course will be roughly 50% instruction and 50% individual work, where we will apply what we learned on real data and train our own neural networks.
While the course is heavily focus on mathematics, programming, and statistics; no prior knowledge of either of these fields is required.
