This course will enable participants to understand and acquire the tools necessary to strategically manage the stakeholders in and around their business firms. Stakeholders are groups and individuals with valid interests in the activities and outcomes of a firm and upon whom the firm relies in order to achieve its objectives.

In this course, participants will learn and understand the origins and foundations of stakeholder management, the value added that a stakeholder approach brings to the field of strategic management, who are the firm’s stakeholders, how stakeholder management works and a number of tools to deal with stakeholders, develop value creating stakeholder strategies and the how they can develop a Stakeholder-­‐based Strategic Control System.

The course will consist of lectures, in­-class case discussions and a simulation.

Participants are required to bring their laptop to the course.

Target group

Advanced bachelor and masters students would have adequate skills and knowledge to deal successfully with the topics of this course. Professionals having experienced some of the issues discussed in this course in their work environment would also be able to deal with the course successfully and bring an extra real-‐life flavor to the course.
