Our physics course studies the universe from large scale theories such as the Big Bang to the minutiae of particle behaviour. By gaining an understanding of why the world around us is the way it is, and how it works, physicists can push the boundaries of scientific knowledge. Mathematics is crucial to this endeavour, and so our seminars investigate physical mathematics and mechanics – both of which play a crucial role in the discipline. From planetary motion to tracing the trajectory of rockets, physics can help us understand why physical objects in the universe behave as they do.
