International Business Law

In today's globalized world, international business and the laws regulating it are no longer distinct disciplines. Whether you are just entering the working world or are still a student, the Bucerius Summer Program in International Business Law prepares you to meet the increasing demands of companies and law firms in the areas of international banking, trade law, consumer transactions and more. The combination of Socratic-style lectures and interactive seminars taught by experienced professors and practitioners ensures that that your intellect remains engaged throughout the program. The variety of courses offered allows you to fine tune your schedule to best fit your personal interests and needs. Courses in the program are taught by distinguished Bucerius and guest professors. The following subjects were offered during the 2023 program (the 2024 schedule is still being confirmed but will be very similar) Business Mediation (Dr. Felix Wendenburg & Elena Mika, European University Viadrina & trojapartner Law Firm) Corporate Governance in Publicly Traded Corporations (Dr. Carsten Jungmann, BIRKENSTOCK Group & Bucerius Law School) International Commercial Arbitration (Prof. Dr. Stefan Kröll, Bucerius Law School) International Commercial Litigation (Prof. Dr. Peter Huber, University of Mainz) International Sales Law - CISG (Prof. Dr. Yeşim M. Atamer, Zurich University) International Mergers & Acquisitions (John Hammond, CMS Hasche Sigle) Negotiation (Prof. Dr. René A. Pfromm, PFROMM Negotiations) Classes take place five days a week, usually between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. You may enroll in up to six courses; if you wish to follow an ADR course, you must select either Business Mediation or Negotiation as these courses meet in parallel. Small class sizes and individuals from across the globe guarantee an interactive, international experience and exchange of diverse ideas. Total program enrollment is limited to 30 participants.
