-Methodology and techniques of excavation.
- History and Archaeology of Sicily.
- Pottery drawing.
- Greek and Roman Pottery.
- Indigenous pottery (Sican/Elymian)
- Arab-Norman pottery.
- Field Survey.
- Post excavation analyses.

The site is "The Pizzo of Ciminna", near Palermo (Sicily). It is an"Indigenous Hellinzed" site, where excavations were carried out by Birkbeck College, University of London and Scuola di Specializzazione di Matera, from 2001 to 2005, bringing to light structures on three terraces that could be related to a sacred area. The material culture is mainly dated to the 4th-3rd centuries BC. The excavation will try to find out more about this area.
Students will be involved in all activities of the dig as well as selecting and preparing finds for their exhibition in the local Museum, managed by Genesis.
Students will also interact with local students of the community to increase and improve relationships and their awareness of the heritage they have.
The course will be mainly in English , but Italian will also be spoken for those who want to improve their Italian.
